Ipaq 2210
Ipaq 2215(200)

This is probably our favorite PDA at the moment. It is a little more expensive than a Dell Axim X5 (our recommended PDA for GPS2PDA), but it is just enough smaller that it seems to fit better in your hand, pocket, or carrying case. It has an integrated Bluetooth interface which doesn’t really help much with GPS2PDA, but is useful for other applications. Note: If you use Jamar Trax counters then you might consider this PDA to use with TraxPDA (click here for info) and have your Trax counters upgraded with Bluetooth adapters.

What is particuarly nice about this PDA is that it is smaller than the Dell Axim X5, but still has both a Compact Flash socket and an SDIO socket. This gives you more options for connecting things to your PDA (which we tend to do). Many of the newer PDAs don’t have a CF slot which is a shame because there are many useful devices out there that use that form factor.

If you plan to use your PDA for more than GPS2PDA, then take a look at this PDA.

Dell Axim X5 Serial Cable02Here is a picture of the serial cable you need. It also has a cigarette adapter that you can use to power the PDA, which saves the batteries. You can get this cable from our favorite cable supply source, The Supply Net. Click here for a link right to the page where you can order this cable.
