The Tungsten T2 from Palm is a very good choice if you want a Palm PDA for normal PDA functions and want to use it for GPS2PDA as well. This is a member of Palm’s business line of
PDA, meaning it comes with software that is designed for business executives (as apposed to the Zire line which is meant more for consumers). It is very rugged and has a great screen. We have one
of these models and use it extensively to test the software and so far we haven’t had any problems with it.
Note, there is an older version, called the Tungsten T, which works well with GPS2PDA. There also is a more expensive version called the Tungsten T3 which we are pretty sure will work very
well (but we haven’t tested it yet). There is a (cheaper) model Tungsten E that does not work with GPS2PDA
because it doesn’t have a serial port so there is no way to connect it to the GPS receiver. Be careful to get a Tungsten T series PDA.
